Orthepedics Company Settles Lawsuit

Stryker Corp, an Orthopedics company, has settled a compensation lawsuit regarding hip implants.
Patients who underwent surgery by Nov. 3 to remove the hip implants will be given a base payment of $300,000, according to plaintiffs' counsel.
Stryker Copr recalled its Rejuvenate and ABG II Modular-Neck Hip Stems in June 2012, stating the implants could cause pain and swelling.
According to Stryker, there are charges recorded of up to $1.425 billion so far related to claims over the implants.
